LISTEN AND LEARN
Being driven by research, development and innovation is a must these days. We know cycling is good for the environment, but to make better clothes and bikes we need research. We need to ask real cyclists what they think. About your experiences and ideas. We want to solve your problems, improve your tours. Local cycling clubs are central to our innovation strategy. We are lucky to have amazing scientists to work with at the local university and have access to an excellent textile laboratory. All of these factors mean that here in little old Umeå, we have the perfect test bench to help us develop a better future for world cycling.
LET'S RIDE
Our Sigr motto "Everywhere is a distance by bike" practically gets it right. If we can get more people to use a bicycle instead of a car, it will create a multifaceted attack on some of today's biggest problems. Improve people's health and reduce pollution. Two of our guide lights. We really believe we will make a difference.
GLOBAL FAMILY
We call our dealers and co-workers part of the "Sigr family" because we believe the idea of family resonates on many levels. Starting with the nearest and dearest and up to the global family. Family and friends are a real treasure, something to be truly treasured. We can do a lot together. Together we can make an impact.
LET'S LET THINGS VERY CLEAR
The path of our garments, from idea to production, strictly follows all local and international rules and regulations, but often, as soon as people hear that we have our factory in China, we get the question "but how do you know not are children doing your clothes?" Well, we know why WE OWN the factory. We have full control of who works and how it works. Children should never work. They must ride a bicycle, play and have the right to go to school.
2019
We take our mission seriously, and as Earth's resources are finite, we're looking for ways to use more recycled materials in our clothing. We will start this journey with our Ocean 2019 t-shirts using material made from recycled fishing nets and other "marine plastic", two words that really shouldn't be said together, we think you'll agree. Let's all be part of this change.
Prototyping was next on our list of "things to improve" Prototyping can involve many versions of a single garment being designed, fitted, manufactured, sent for testing, sent for approval and in all likelihood that the chain of events could be repeated over and over until the outfit was ready for the world.
From now on, we will use avatars in our prototyping process, thus reducing the environmental impact to more or less zero. Read more about our new friend Maja here.
Follow our journey and we promise to do more.
