KIKO will conquer new markets
Last spring, KIKO quietly entered the American market. The Italian beauty brand has opened its first store in a shopping mall in Paramus, New Jersey, according to Corriere Della Sera. Today, the beauty and cosmetics specialist has four stores in the country and is developing much larger projects.Founded in 1997 by Italian real estate agency Percassi, who formed a joint venture with Inditex to introduce Zara to Italy in the early 2000s, KIKO was initially a cosmetics brand before becoming a retailer as well.
It currently has more than 600 stores (the brand predicts 656 stores by the end of the year) in Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and now in the United States. In France, where it arrived in 2010, the company has 94 stores.
Its development has been as low-key as it has been rapid, which worries other beauty retailers. That's because, in addition to its strength as a retailer, KIKO offers its own cosmetics and beauty products (produced in Italy or Europe, according to the company) at affordable prices. KIKO aggressive stance competes directly with select perfume retailers, hitting them exactly where they generate their biggest margins: their brands. According to Corriere Della Sera, KIKO, which opened 70 stores in 2014, is preparing its IPO.
KIKO COSMETICS
Is becoming very popular in Europe and USA now. They are opening stores everywhere and everyone seems to like the brand. It is one of the most loved brands here in Italy and they always launch lots of new products with beautiful packaging and affordable prices.

BLUSH.
Good variety of colors. Pigmented and long lasting. Be sure to check out the COLOR VEIL BLUSHES, especially the baked blushes. (review here)
PUT THE SHADOWS.
They are extremely durable and water resistant. Beautiful and elegant packaging and beautiful variety of shades.
FULL COVERAGE BROKER.
It is creamy, covers blemishes and blemishes. It comes with a mirror, so it's a very useful product for touch-ups throughout the day. The color selection is also very good.
UNLIMITED STYLE LIPSTICK.
If you like matte lipsticks, you will love it! It stays creamy but blurs after a few minutes and lasts forever and doesn't move.
ENAMEL.
They have so many colors to choose from and their quality is good enough for cheap nail polish. Last year they released the new POWER PRO NAIL LACQUER and they are fantastic. I recommend these! (review here)
SMART LIP PENCILS.
They only cost 2 euros and they are great! They are creamy, pigmented and can be used all over the lip.
PENCIL SHEET.
The application is precise and gives the right amount of product leaving a natural looking result. Last year, Kiko launched the new pencil eyebrows, EYEBROW SCULPT AUTOMATIC PENCIL, which are finished twice with a coil on one end and a pencil on the other. It has that triangular wedge shape that makes application easy and precise.
COLLECTIONS.
New KIKO collections are frequent and you will always find good products. Don't forget to check them out! FIRST Be sure to check your primers. They have a good selection and they are not bad. EYE BASE works well as an eyeshadow primer, rubs on easily, dries quickly and maintains the look of the eyeshadow.
WATER SHADOWS.
These shadows can be used wet or dry and are super pigmented especially when used wet.
OTHERS.
Lip balms or some highlighters are also worth a try.
FOUNDATIONS.
I was never a fan of your fundamentals. What I tried didn't work for me. I'm still using the UNIVERSAL FIT FOUNDATION, but I don't like it, but I know a lot of people do. In general, the color selection is not great. It's hard to find light shades.
UNIQUE SHADOWS.
They are of very poor quality. Some of them are not pigmented enough, others are very shiny with giant pieces of glitter and the packaging is very fragile.
INTELLIGENT EYE PENCILS.
They are difficult to work with and some of them are not pigmented.
MASKS.
I haven't tried all the mascaras, but the ones I tried were very heavy and didn't affect my lashes at all.
INTELLIGENT LIPSTICKS.
They're super cheap and have pretty colors, but the formula isn't great. They are neither pigmented nor creamy and do not last long.
BRUSHES.
Makeup brushes are tough and difficult to work with. Some of the bristles fall out when you apply makeup.
