Emma Hobson, Offers Her Top Tips for Planning a Horseback Getaway
Our new head trainer, Emma Hobson, offers her best advice for planning a break and explains why she will love our exciting new riding and wellness vacation.
We recently welcomed a new head trainer and equestrian business manager to our Equestrian Center: Emma Hobson BHSAI. Emma, a Dressage Ireland list six judge, dressage judge, working mother and holder of three higher education degrees, is excited to join the world-renowned team. Hailing from horses, with parents who were riding instructors, Emma is known for her prowess at dressage and has competed or ridden in almost all equestrian disciplines. “CastilloLeslie Estate is such a special place and I am delighted to be joining the team,” she says. “The place is a true haven for horses, offering not only first-class horseback riding, but also luxurious cuisine and facilities; underwent a large-scale renovation of its fantastic Lodge rooms. We have a courtyard filled with world-class attractions of all sizes, ready to welcome guests, no matter what your chosen driving discipline is. "
Emma has the following tips for guests considering a horseback riding vacation this fall:
Why book a fall horseback riding holiday? Well, many of us enjoy improving our riding skills in a new location, as well as relaxing and unplugging on horseback riding. Now that the summer sun has left us, it is the perfect time to book a training break without the heat and humidity of distant destinations.
Why not tailor a bike break to suit your needs? For example, if you have events planned next spring in your chosen riding discipline, you can arrange specific training to perfect a particular dressage move, improve any positional difficulties, practice a technically challenging show jumping course, or tackle a field at through in particular. obstacle.
Consider the benefits of using a mechanical or virtual horse; These can bring great benefits, in terms of evaluating and improving your riding and basic riding skills, balance, and position. (Our mechanical horse is named Prince!)
If you have your own horse, you will undoubtedly be used to riding it in a certain way: a trained horse trip allows you to bring your body to neutrality (for example, using the mechanical horse), experience different types of horses, and also ride school masters. They can teach you new skills or movements that your own horse has not yet mastered.
If you're wondering what to pack for a workout break, here are some tips! At Castle Leslie Estate, for example, we provide body protectors and helmets, however we suggest that guests bring their own. Pack several pairs of breeches or pants, comfortable riding boots, gloves, and some smart / casual clothing to relax on your base. Of course, a suitable camera or smartphone (with secure case or carrying bag) is recommended, to capture some memories! Bring some raincoats; for example here in Ireland it is usually mild, but can sometimes be humid in the inclement months.
