Heading styles
It’s likely that you’ll have or want either a curtain rod or track for your curtains to sit on. A curtain rod or pole will sit on two pole support brackets and is often extendable. A variety of materials and designs are available, pay close attention to the diameter as your curtain holes may not fit over the pole.
Tracks are often flatter/rectangular in design and contain small movable eyelets to attach hooks onto. The benefit to curtain tracks is you don’t see the attachments; the curtain will look like it’s sitting against the window or wall with no pole or bracket showing. They can also be automated with pulley systems to open or close the curtains or be double layered if you want a net/lighter hanging behind.
If you’re using a pole, then you’ll need to check the type of curtains you have. Some have in-built rings or grommets that will simply slip over the pole ends and hang. Others will need rings or hooks added. This is the case if your curtains have a pleat, are ‘goblet’ style or ‘wave’ style.
Ring styles
Depending on your pole shape, you may want Curtain D-rings or oval rings. Oval rings are the most popular as poles are invariably circular in design. These in themselves have many different style options, depending on how you want to attach the ring to the curtain, and the colour/design you’re looking to achieve. Some of the options we sell are:
Curtain pole rings with pincer clips – useful if your curtains don’t have any curtain tape to attach to (curtain tape is found at the top of the curtain with string threaded through).
Loose eye curtain pole rings – the smaller ring slips over the string, hanging your curtains effortlessly, and allowing the big ring to remain on full display.
Fixed eye curtain pole rings – available as both plastic fixed eye and wood fixed eye, these need to be threaded through a string or attachment on the back of the curtain. They help bring the curtain closer to the pole/track. Often used during curtain creation and are sewn into the design

‘Silent’ pole rings which have a plastic interior so that they dull any noise created when pulling the curtains open and closed.
Simple ring hooks with allegator clips are useful if you don’t want full rings on show, or/and you don’t have any way of attaching to the curtain.
Track fittings
If you have a curtain track or rail, you’ll need a track fitting that will attach the curtain tape to the rail. There are two types of attachment – gliders and runners. Curtain track runners are useful if you don’t have any tape attached to the back of the curtain as they clamp to either side of the top of the curtain. Curtain gliders are specially designed to fit different tracks, such as Harrison, Drape Swish, Decorail, Homebase and more. Check your rail/track design and if possible, look at any existing gliders on the rail to find the correct shape.
