Requirements for car rental in Italy
MINIMUM AGE
The renter / driver must be at least 25 years old. Renters aged 21-24 will be subject to additional local taxes and will not be able to rent vehicles in the Premium, Special, SUV, Minivan, Van, Convertible, Utility and Luxury categories. Additional drivers must be at least 25 years old.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
The renter must present the original of his driving license, valid and by the expiry date. In the case of an international driving license, it must be presented together with the driving license of the country of origin.
ID OR PASSPORT
Each driver must present a valid passport or photo ID.
INTERNATIONAL CREDIT CARD
The tenant must present a valid international credit card, owned by him, by the expiry date, issued by a bank and with a credit limit available for pre-authorization of the security deposit. Third party credit cards, cards not linked to banking institutions or not authorized for international transactions will not be accepted. Credit card acceptance is the sole responsibility of the rental company. The online and advance payment of the rental will not relieve the renter from presenting the international credit card to the rental company when collecting the vehicle to cover the pre-authorization of the guarantee deposit and the collection of any local taxes not included in the voucher prepaid - example: fuel, accident insurance, special services, taxes, etc.
BOOKING PROOF - PREPAID VOUCHER
When issuing the booking through Rentcars, the renter must present to the rental company a printed copy of the booking confirmation voucher - Voucher. This confirmation document, issued by Rentcars, will guarantee the renter the use of all the pre-requested and confirmed services, as well as the availability of the vehicle of the chosen group, payment terms, rates and discounts.
Fuel Policy:
Full to full. Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel upon collection. To avoid incurring fuel costs, it must be returned with the same amount of fuel that it had at the time of collection. You may be required to leave a reserved or charged deposit on your credit card for fuel. This will be unlocked or refunded when you return the full vehicle.
Any fuel missing from the vehicle will be charged upon your return. The price per liter charged by the rental agent may be significantly higher than the price at local service stations. A refueling fee may also apply.
