OUR POWERFUL PLANTS

Great fundamental health starts with balanced nutrition. That's why we pack our drinks with the most potent plants to aid absorption. After all, if you can't pronounce the ingredient, should you really put it in your body?

Ginger (Zingiber officinale)

Ginger has traditionally been used for thousands of years in eastern cultures and is abundant in active compounds and polyphenols. These are mainly gingerols, shogaols and paradols. Ginger is a classic addition to traditional hot drinks and we've added 200mg to our Lemon and Honey for a touch of ginger.

Honey

Honey is more than just a candy - it's been used for millennia for its unique properties. It has special actions through a new molecule called defensin-1. Impossibly, honey contains all the substances necessary to sustain life, including enzymes, water, minerals and vitamins.

Lemon (citrus lemon)

Like citrus fruits, lemons are not only a good source of vitamin C, but also flavonoids, polyphenols and citric acid (which is what gives lemons their sour taste). Vitamin C contributes to the normal production of collagen, which is necessary for the skin to function perfectly as the body's first line of defense, acting as an external barrier. Vitamin C has also been shown to support normal immune system function and help protect cells from oxidative stress.

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra)

The elderberry is a fruit of the sambucus tree (elderberry flower) and has traditionally been used to make syrups and beverages. They are packed with powerful molecules, particularly flavonoids and anthocyanins. These molecules have been extensively studied to discover their role in human health.

British Black Currant (Ribes nigrum)

In addition to vitamin C, blackcurrants contain quercetin derivatives known for their antiviral and antiseptic effects.

Montmorency Cherry (Prunus cerasus)

Rich in the hormone melatonin, cherry is a delicious and effective ingredient to aid restful sleep. Cherries are also a good source of fiber, vitamins and minerals, including potassium, calcium, vitamin A and folic acid.

Chamomile (Matricaria recuita)

Known for its ability to promote peaceful, restful sleep, chamomile is one of the richest sources of antioxidants in the diet.

Valerian root (Valeriana officinalis)

A calming plant with potent qualities used to balance mood and relieve anxiety.

Reishi mushrooms

Immensely popular in Eastern medicine for its perceived effect on the genes of white blood cells, a critical part of the immune system. Some studies have found that some forms of reishi can alter the inflammation pathways in white blood cells.

Aged garlic

In addition to being a versatile and popular vegetable, garlic has been associated with a number of health benefits. Garlic's secret weapon is allicin, a sulfur-based medicinal compound widely considered to be one of the most powerful natural antioxidants in the world!

OUR VITAL VITAMINS

Our high impact beverage formulas are based on the latest science in immune health. We only use vitamins and minerals that have a proven track record of supporting optimal immunity.

Vitamin A

A potent antioxidant often associated with shiny hair, fresh skin and keen eyesight. Vitamin A is also great for supporting optimal immune function as it supports the growth and distribution of T cells, a type of white blood cell that protects your body from infection.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and an essential micronutrient for the immune system. It acts as a cofactor, which our immune systems need to catalyze enzymatic reactions for the innate and adaptive immune systems.

D vitamin*

Despite its name, vitamin D is actually a pro-hormone known to support immune, brain, and nervous system health. Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to a number of diseases, including bone health problems, susceptibility to infections and an increased risk of autoimmune diseases.

Vitamin E

Strongly associated with our skin care, our first line of immune defense, vitamin E may also be beneficial in reducing UV damage to the skin. Its anti-inflammatory property makes it a great support for the immune system, cell function and skin health.

Magnesium

Good levels of magnesium help the body to settle down mood, control stress and protect metabolic health. Macro-mineral magnesium is also often associated with promoting deep restorative sleep due to its role in maintaining GABA, a neurotransmitter that promotes drowsiness.

Selenium

Commonly found in Brazil nuts, some fish, brown rice and eggs, selenium can help prevent cardiovascular disease, thyroid problems and cognitive decline in the elderly, although there is still a lot of research to be done!

Zinc

Mineral zinc is essential for good immune health, metabolism and DNA synthesis. Deficiency affects all aspects of the immune system and increases susceptibility to infection. Good levels of zinc in your diet can even benefit your ability to taste and smell.
