DESCRIPTION
Udder Covers cover you where you need it and yet still allow you to have eye contact with your baby - all while wearing something chic and stylish.
You won't have to suffer through using a style of nursing cover that you hate because there are plenty of choices out there when it comes to cut and style. Make sure to give some thought to what style will work for you and your lifestyle before you buy one.
There are three main types of nursing covers.
- Apron nursing cover: Regular aprons have been popular for decades because they're a cinch to use and get the job done. You place the strap behind your neck, just like you would an apron. This style is great because you can see your baby and ensure they're getting enough air. The one downside is there isn't a lot of fabric right above your breasts, so if your baby tugs hard, the apron can slide down and give everyone an eyeful.
- Infinity nursing cover: This design is a master of disguise. It doubles as an infinity scarf and as a nursing cover when you need it. There is plenty of light, breathable material to cover your baby, but as a downside, you won't be able to see them very well.
- Poncho nursing cover: A huge trend in the 1970s, the poncho is making a comeback as a nursing cover. If you're paranoid about any part of you being seen while you're breastfeeding, a poncho will be right up your alley. You'll keep everything covered with these bad boys and there's no risk of your baby ripping it off either. But you need to make sure you don't buy a regular poncho because the material might be too thick and heavy.

Our History
The Udder Covers nursing cover, originally known as the "Priv-A-See" cover, traces its origin back to 1994, when Teri Runco invented the first flexible-yet-rigid neckline nursing cover. In the beginning, all nursing covers were handmade, ironed, folded, and packaged by Teri out of her home.
"I nursed four children and it wasn't until the fourth one that I decided that there had to be a better way of nursing in front of my Italian father-in-law so that the blanket didn't fall off, but most importantly that the baby would get ventilation."
"It was a very simple invention and when I came up with it, I decided that it was a good idea and that it should be out on the market."
As time went on, the Priv-A-See brand was retired, and in 2009, Teris unique design began selling under the unforgettable name Udder Covers. Today, Udder Covers is one of the many stylish, world-famous brands distributed through the parent company Mothers Lounge. Since its humble beginning 21 years ago, the Udder Covers nursing cover has now been sold in independent boutiques and major retailers in over 86 countries around the world. As a result, millions of moms have enjoyed nursing their baby in public and in fashion with Udder Covers. Thanks to you all' our wonderful, loyal customers the Udder Covers brand has become the #1 selling nursing cover in the world.
Udder Covers are great - if you get them nearly free.
I have been breastfeeding for 22 months (not consecutively) with 2 baby boys. I am quite a modest person. I thought these covers would be what I needed, but for a variety of reasons, they are not. I used a special code to get a cover nearly free with just paying shipping. The cover was worth about what I paid. The designs are quite cute and stylish. The fabric is quite thin (great for summer but may not be as discrete as some would like). The ring for the neck strap is a little hard to use one-handed. The concept of the boning in the front that allows you to peek in to see baby is nice, but it didn't work well for me. I am quite petite (under 5 feet). I found that anyone who was near me could see down just as well as I could. I also wish the fabric was longer. I am not overweight, but I definitely want to keep my post baby belly under wraps. At this point, I no longer use a cover of any sort while in public. I have found that a cover announces to everyone that I am breastfeeding and would make me more nervous. I am able to show no skin at all by using a sling/wrap while wearing a nursing tank under my top. I get baby latched on and use my shirt to cover from the top and the tank hides my belly. It looks like baby is just sleeping. With that said, if an Udder Cover (I really don't like the cow reference) helps a mom breastfeed her baby, I am all for it.
