Safe Snap Amp Snapper
A simple and effective device to safely open glass ampoules. The plastic case completely surrounds the glass ampoule (with the dot on the amp facing outward), holding it in place so it can be broken with a simple 'snap'. The snapper can then be easily opened and the ampoule removed, or it can be locked in the open position (via a clip on the back) and the contents of the ampoule can be removed in place. When using ampoules that have been marked for easy opening, you must place the ampoule into the snapper correctly, otherwise the amp may break inside the device. ALWAYS KEEP THE BLUE DOT OUT. Originally designed for use by injecting drug users (to reduce the risk of blood-borne virus transmission when opening ampoules of water), Safe Snap was quickly adopted by healthcare professionals. Every nurse, doctor and community pharmacist should have one in their pocket! The main practical problem for using the Secure Snap is ensuring that the blue dot on the ampoule neck is facing outwards. When using ampoules that have been marked for easy opening, you must place the ampoule into the snapper correctly, otherwise the amp may break inside the device. 10ml ampoules The Safe Snap also breaks 10ml ampoules: just place the top of the ampoule in the 'body' part of the snapper, hold the bottom half of the ampoule in your hand and break. Cold plastic is more brittle when cold, and if the snapper gets cold, it can cause the hinges to break. So if you're working outdoors during the winter, it makes sense to keep your safety clasp in a pocket where it can be kept warm, as it's less likely to break. The Safe Snap Amp Snapper is precision engineered for durability and ease of use. The hinges must last at least 100 uses.
