Mandibular Advance Devices (MADs)
Mandibular advancement devices (MADs) move the jaw forward during sleep. Thus keeping the airways in the throat open. Snoring usually occurs because the muscles in the tongue and throat relax during sleep, narrowing the space in the throat. MADs help prevent this.
We've already sold tens of thousands of mandibular advancement devices. Take advantage of our extensive experience with MADs.
Our Buying Tips for Mandibular Advance Devices
When purchasing a mandibular advancement device, you should pay special attention to these points:
1. Size
Our mandibular advancement devices always come in one size. However, the size varies depending on the MAD. Somnipax guard S , for example, is best suited for smaller jaws, somnipax guard for larger jaws.
With this simple trick, you can quickly and reliably estimate whether the mandibular advancement device fits your jaw:
Cut a square from a thicker, cleaner cardboard box large enough to fit in your mouth and cover your teeth. Place the piece of cardboard in your mouth and bite down hard once. The jaw print must be clearly visible on the cardboard. Now you can measure the length and width of the jaw print with a ruler. Then compare these measurements with the width and length of the mandibular advancement device we specified in the 'Technical data' section. The length and width of the MAD must be at least 1 mm greater than the length and width of the jaw impression. If that's the case, it's suitable for the size of your jaw.
2. Comfort
Comfort is a very important selection factor when purchasing mandibular advancement devices. Even the most effective MAD is of very little use if it is perceived as uncomfortable and therefore not used. Based on our many years of product experience, we assess the comfort of the respective MADs for you - you can easily use a filter to search for the ideal MAD.
3. Adaptation
Most mandibular advancement devices can be heated in a water bath and then shaped to fit your bite. This is easy to do and can be repeated over and over again. The advantage of this is that MAD is significantly more comfortable. You don't need to mold the ZQuiet, that means it's even faster and easier to fit. Despite this, this MAD is very comfortable because it is made of a soft material.
ZQuiet if you pass from cette adaptability au profit d'une application plus rapide et encore plus simple. Néanmoins, grace à son plastique soup, cette gouttière est très confortable à porter.
4. Mandibular advancement
Mandibular advancement devices can generally move the mandible forward up to 10 mm and with protective somnipax S up to 12 mm. Mandibular advancement is usually adjusted in steps of approx. 1-2 mm or even infinitely variable (eg with SomnoGuard AP 2 ). A thinner fit provides greater precision and comfort. However, in our experience, an adjustment in 1-2 mm steps is usually absolutely sufficient.
