What does your strength scale mean?
Our coffees are crafted and roasted to different levels of taste intensity. We love making strong and exciting coffees normally within the 9-12 strength and taste range. However, strength doesn’t relate to the caffeine content of the coffee.
How much caffeine is there in your coffee?
The amount of caffeine in your cup depends on the type of bean used as well as the way your coffee is extracted (from espresso to filter), making this a tricky one to answer.
On average, the caffeine for our blends are approximately 110-130mg of caffeine when poured as an espresso, and 150-180mg when poured as a Lungo. As these blends are a mix of Robusta and Arabica, they have a higher caffeine content than some.
Which decaffeination method do you use?
We use the CO2 decaffeination process which is a natural process. Without solvents or chemicals, we gently remove the caffeine from the coffee beans. This preserves our bold flavours to create a smooth and guilt free blend.
Is your coffee Fairtrade certified?
The coffee in our aluminium pods is UTZ certified which means that it was grown and harvested in a sustainable way. UTZ stands for sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmers, their families and our planet. Find out more www.utz.org
Does any of your coffee contain nuts?
No. All that you’ll find in our products is coffee. We describe some tasting notes of certain blends as ‘nutty’ but rest assured, it’s just coffee!
Is anything made from recycled materials?
Our Coffee pod carton boxes are made from FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) ‘MIX’ grade cardboard. This means there is a mix of reclaimed/recycled and renewed certified fibres.
Our Coffee pod carton boxes are fully recyclable and use recyclable inks, varnishes and adhesives.
Our Roast and Ground coffee bags, labels, valves and zippers are made from a single material, LDPE. These can be fully recycled through waste stream 4.
The shelf ready boxes we pack our coffees into are made from FSC ‘RECYCLED’ card and can be fully recycled.
What safety measures are you taking as a result of COVID-19?
Our packing partners, Codestorm, have a robust policy in place which follows the advice from Public Health England, the NHS and UK Government. The focus is to keep everyone safe and operate responsibly. Some additional measures that have been taken include:
· All team members who can are working from home
· Set up of additional sanitising stations throughout the warehouse with regular hand cleaning breaks
· Face masks available
· Observing all social distancing rules.
