Portishead Clip On Spotlight Table Lamp
A slightly more practical option may be for the reader who doesn't have a 'set reading space.' This lamp can be moved around and clipped to desks, headboards, chairs and windowsills - you name it. The adjustable spotlight allows complete control of the light's direction, so it is ideal for those looking for a simple, yet affective, reading lamp. This lamp is a great alternative for those wanting the practicality of wall reading lights, without having to install them and think of a permanent location.
EMBRACE YOUR SPACE - @SINEADCROWE
There is nothing that says 'zen' like Sinead Crowe's calm and neutral aesthetic. Taking inspiration from YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram, Sinead has brought her tonal home of dreams to life, steering away from trends and, instead, towards a classic finish that will stand the test of time. Discover how Sinead creates a neutral and minimalistic home that still feels cosy and lived in. One way Sinead achieves this is opting for warm glow lighting that is sure to make any space feel homely and warm.
A serene home environment was much needed for Sinead, as she embarked on not only a national lockdown, but also the birth of her beautiful baby girl. Amongst all this, Sinead has been the vision behind a bathroom, nursery, and a bedroom renovation - whilst her husband brought it all to life with some nifty DIY skills!
Q: What is your favourite room / space in your home and why?
This is a tough one! I would probably say either the bedroom or the living room; but since the living room is the only one "complete", I will go with that one! I love the calm neutral aesthetic, and how it flows into the kitchen. I feel like it's the perfect balance between an 'aesthetic' home, and 'still lived in', if you know what I mean!
Q: Do you have a proudest DIY moment?
I'm more of the brains behind the projects than the DIY-er. Jack thinks I'm an absolute liability, so he's usually the one doing the DIY; then I come in, and make it look pretty, with the finishing touches! We redid the bathroom - when I say 'we', I mean 'he'- from scratch, and he did it all himself. I'd definitely say that's our proudest achievement!
Q: How have you styled your work-from-home space?
I've not really created a work from home space as such! I have always worked from home, and I used to have an office in our old place, but it just became a dumping zone. I don't think I sat at my desk once! So now I just prefer to sit at our kitchen table! The kitchen is super bright and open, and I like being in the middle of things and most importantly, right next to the kettle and the snacks!
Q: Have you completed any lockdown home DIY projects?
Yes! So, our Bathroom was our first lockdown project! Then we got the landing and stairs all finished which really pulled the whole house together! Plus, the nursery, and I finally got round to finishing (nearly) our bedroom! So, you could say the lockdowns have been pretty productive for us!
Q: Where do you get your home inspiration from?
A: Instagram and Pinterest are my favourites! I also love watching the Arch Digest YouTube channel and seeing how people have decorated their homes! Plus, I'm kind of obsessed with interior design coffee table books, in particular the 'White Company' one, as I feel like that is the aesthetic I go for the most!
Q: How would you describe your home style?
A: I would say it's kind of a White Company/ Zara home vibe! It's neutral without being too cold! I try and keep it classic too, as I made the mistake in previous homes of buying trendy home pieces which I soon got bored of!
