Get straight in, without lining up to buy on the day. After entering, you’ll start your adventure in the tunnel-shaped Aqua Gate tank, then take the escalator up to the top-floor Japan Forest. Your route then leads down from the top floor, passing through such themed areas as Gulf of Panama, Ecuador Rain Forest, Antarctica, Great Barrier Reef, and Seto Inland Sea. You’ll see graceful sea creatures from every angle. A huge tank 9 by 34 meters in size replicates the Pacific Ocean, where whale sharks cruise past like majestic submarines. The domed tank in the Arctic Zone brings you closer than ever to its charming seals, while Fish Underpass surrounds you with colorful creatures. In the New Interactive Exhibit Area, feel what it’s actually like in the living environments that Kaiyukan represents. Experience the actual sounds, scents, and temperatures of the Arctic Region, Maldives Islands, and Falklands Islands (Malvinas). Stay after 17:00 to experience the otherworldly Kaiyukan Night Aquarium. Lights and music change to set a relaxing, almost mystical tone in the aquarium, while fish swim in their own deep blue seas as if under moonlight. A limited number of wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge. **Strollers** are not recommended. Some exhibits cannot be viewed from the level of strollers, and there is an increased chance of collision with other visitors in low-light areas when crowded. Kaiyukan recommends carrying infants; the Service Counter can keep strollers free of charge. **Guide dogs**, assistance dogs, and hearing dogs can enter the aquarium with their owners. Pets are not allowed. **Coin lockers** of various sizes are available for 200–700 JPY, usable during aquarium opening hours only. A **first aid room** and **nursing room** are available on the second and sixth floors, and a nearby **prayer room** is on the third floor of the Tempozan Marketplace.
